And that is when its teats are cut and deliberately wounded until the milk duct is ruined, so no milk comes out and it dries up, and that is stronger for it.
وقيل: ناقة مصرمة وهي التي صرمها الصرار فوقذها
And it was said: a muṣramah camel is one whose teats are severed by the 'ṣarār' (a type of binding or injury).
وربما صرمت عمدا لتسمن فتكوى
And sometimes they are deliberately cut to fatten them, and then cauterized.
لعنت بمحروم الشراب مصرم
Cursed be he who is deprived of drink, severed.
وكان أبو عمرو يقول وقد تكون المصرمة الأطباء من انقطاع اللبن، وذلك أن يصيب الضرع شيء فيكوى بالنار فلا يخرج منه لبن أبدا
And Abu Amr used to say that al-muṣramah al-aṭibbāʾ can be from the cessation of milk, which is when something affects the udder and it is cauterized with fire, so no milk ever comes out of it.
لا تجوز المصرمة الأطباء ؛ يعني المقطوعة الضروع.
The muṣramah al-aṭibbāʾ is not permissible; meaning the one with severed udders.
والصرماء: الفلاة من الأرض.
And al-ṣarmāʾ: a desert plain.
والصرماء المفازة التي لا ماء فيها.
And al-ṣarmāʾ is the desolate place that has no water in it.
والأصرمان: الذئب والغراب لانصرامهما وانقطاعهما عن الناس
And al-aṣramān: the wolf and the raven, due to their separation and detachment from people.
على صرماء فيها أصرماها
Upon a desolate plain where they (the wolf and raven) have separated.

وأكل الصيرم أي الوجبة، وهي الأكلة الواحدة في اليوم
And eating al-ṣayram means the meal, which is one meal a day.
في هذه الأمة خمس فتن قد مضت أربع وبقيت واحدة وهي الصيرم
In this Ummah, there have been five tribulations; four have passed and one remains, and it is al-ṣayram.
وكأنها بمنزلة الصيلم، وهي الداهية التي تستأصل كل شيء كأنها فتنة قطاعة، وهي من الصرم القطع، والياء زائدة.
And it is as if it is like al-ṣaylam, which is the calamity that eradicates everything, as if it is a cutting tribulation, and it is from al-ṣarm (cutting), and the 'yāʾ' is extra.
والصروم: الناقة التي لا ترد النضيح حتى يخلو لها، تنصرم عن الإبل
And al-ṣarūm: the camel that does not approach the watering place until it is empty for her, she separates herself from the camels.
وصرم شهرا بمعنى مكث.
And he stayed for a month, meaning he remained.
والصرم: الجلد، فارسي معرب.
And al-ṣarm: leather, a Persian loanword.
وفي الحديث: أنه غير اسم أصرم فجعله زرعة ، كرهه لما فيه من معنى القطع، وسماه زرعة لأنه من الزرع النبات.
And in the Hadith: he changed the name Aṣram, making it Zarʿah, disliking it because of its meaning of cutting, and he named it Zarʿah because it is from planting and growth.
