And among them is one whose sweat reaches the 'shahmah of his ear'; it is from that. He said: it is the place of piercing the earring; and in the hadith of Rabi'ah about the man: he raises his hands to the 'shahmah of his ears'.

And the 'shahmah of the eye' is its pupil, and in Al-Azharī: its iris; and it is said: it is the fatty layer beneath the iris.
وطعام مشحوم وخبز مشحوم: قد جعل فيه الشحم.
And 'ta'am mashhum' and 'khubz mashhum': fat has been put into it.
وشحمة الأرض: دودة بيضاء، وقيل: هي عظاءة بيضاء غير ضخمة، وقيل: ليست من العظاء هي أطيب وأحسن، وقالوا: شحمة النقا، كما قالوا: بنات النقا.
And 'shahmah al-ard' is a white worm, and it was said: it is a white, not large lizard; and it was said: it is not from the lizards, it is tastier and better; and they said: 'shahmah al-niqa', as they said: 'banat al-niqa'.
