والخثمة: غلظ وقصر وتفرطح.
And al-khathmah: thickness, shortness, and flatness.
وناقة خثماء، وخثمها: استدارة خفها وانبساطه وقصر مناسمه، وبه يشبه الركب لاكتنازه، قال: ومثله الأخث.
And a khathma' camel, and its khathmuha: the roundness, spread, and shortness of its hooves and soles, and by this the mount is likened due to its bulk, he said: and similar to it is al-akhth.
