So al-nakhl is purification, and al-intikhal is choosing for yourself its best, and likewise al-tanakhkhul.
تنخلتها مدحا لقوم، ولم أكن ... لغيرهم، فيما مضى، أتنخل
I selected them for praise of a people, and I was not ... for others, in the past, selecting.
وفي الحديث: لا يقبل الله من الدعاء إلا الناخلة أي المنخولة الخالصة
And in the Hadith: Allah does not accept from supplication except the nakhilah, meaning the sifted, pure one.
وفيه أيضا: لا يقبل الله إلا نخائل القلوب أي النيات الخالصة
And in it also: Allah does not accept except the nakhā'il of hearts, meaning the pure intentions.
يقال: نخلت له النصيحة إذا أخلصتها
It is said: I gave him sincere advice if you purified it.

وفي التنزيل العزيز: والنخل ذات الأكمام
And in the Noble Quran: And the palm trees, laden with spathes.

The likeness of the believer is like the bee, and what is famous in the narration is: like the palm tree.
