والمقل: الغمس.
And al-muql: the immersion.
ويقال للرجلين إذا تغاطا في الماء: هما يتماقلان
And it is said of two men if they plunge in the water: they are plunging.
تماقلوا في البحر

ولكن المقل أن يمقل الفصيل الماء إذا آذاه حر اللبن فيوجر الماء فيكون دواء.
But al-muql is when the young camel is given water if the heat of the milk harms it, so water is administered to it and becomes a remedy.
امقلوه الماء واللبن أو شيئا من الدواء فهذا المقل الصحيح.
Administer to him water and milk or something of medicine, this is the correct al-muql.
إذا لم يرضع الفصيل أخذ لسانه ثم صب الماء في حلقه، وهو المقل، وقد مقلته مقلا
If the young camel does not nurse, its tongue is taken, then water is poured into its throat, and this is al-muql, and I have administered it to it.
إذا استحر فامقلوه مقلا، ... في الحلق واللهاة صبوا الرسلا
If it gets hot, then administer to it, ... in the throat and uvula pour the liquid.
وكأن المقل مقلوب من الملق وهو الرضاع.
