والخذول من الخيل: التي إذا ضربها المخاض لم تبرح من مكانها.

And the 'khadhul' among horses: is she who, when struck by the rider, does not move from her place.

وتخاذلت رجلا الشيخ: ضعفتا.

And the old man's legs weakened.

ورجل خذول الرجل: تخذله رجله من ضعف أو عاهة أو سكر؛

And a man is 'khadhul al-rajul': his leg abandons him due to weakness, defect, or drunkenness.
