وجاءت جيأل وبنو بنيها، ... أجم الماقيين بها خماع
And the hyenas came with their offspring...
والجيأل الضخم من كل شيء.
And the ji'al is the large of everything.
والاجئلال، بوزن افعلال: الفزع والوهل والوجل؛
And al-ij'ilal, on the pattern if'ilal: fright, terror, and fear.
وغائط قد هبطت وحدي، ... للقلب من خوفه اجئلال
And a low-lying place I descended into alone, ... the heart from its fear experienced ij'ilal.
وجائز أن يكون اجئلال افعلال من جأل يجأل إذا ذهب وجاء كما يقال وجب القلب إذا اضطرب.
And it is permissible for ij'ilal to be if'ilal from ja'ala yaj'alu if he went and came, as it is said the heart palpitated if it was disturbed.
