يقال: فلان في بال رخي ولبب رخي أي في سعة وخصب وأمن، وإنه لرخي البال وناعم البال.

It is said: So-and-so is in easy circumstances and abundant provisions, meaning in ease, fertility, and security, and indeed he is of easy state and comfortable condition.

ما بالك؟

What is your state/condition?

يقال: فلان كاسف البال، وكسوف باله: أن يضيق عليه أمله.

It is said: So-and-so is of diminished hope, and the dimming of his hope is that his hope becomes constricted.

وهو رخي البال إذا لم يشد عليه الأمر ولم يكترث.

And he is of easy state when the matter is not severe upon him and he does not worry.

سيهديهم ويصلح بالهم ، أي حالهم في الدنيا.

He will guide them and set their affairs in order, meaning their state in this world.

ومن أسماء النفس البال.

And among the names for the soul is 'al-bal'.

والبال: بال النفس وهو الاكتراث، ومنه اشتق باليت، ولم يخطر ببالي ذلك الأمر أي لم يكرثني.

And 'al-bal': the concern of the soul, which is caring, and from it is derived 'balitu', and that matter did not cross my mind, meaning it did not concern me.
