As for Ibn Al-Khattab being alive, no, but rather when people are in 'dhi Bili' and 'dhi Balaa'' (places of dispersion).

يريد تفرق الناس وأن يكونوا طوائف وفرقا من غير إمام يجمعهم وبعد بعضهم من بعض؛ وكل من بعد عنك حتى لا تعرف موضعه، فهو بذي بلي، وهو من بل في الأرض أي ذهب

He means the scattering of people and their being in groups and factions without a leader to unite them, and their being far from each other; and whoever is far from you until you do not know his location, he is in 'dhi Bili', and it is from 'bala fi al-ard' (going astray in the land), meaning he went.

وأنشد الكسائي: ينام ويذهب الأقوام حتى ... يقال: أتوا على ذي بليان

And Al-Kisa'i recited: He sleeps and people go until it is said: They arrived at 'dhi Balyan' (a place of dispersion).

وأبل عليه: غلبه

And 'aballa 'alayhi' (he overcame him): he subdued him.

Indeed, my Ummah is a merciful Ummah, there is no punishment upon it in the Hereafter; its punishment is only in this world: the 'balabil' (anxieties), earthquakes, and trials.
