He tore the veil and the garment, he tore it (yahtukuhu) with a tearing (hatkan), so it became torn (intahataka) and it became torn (tahattaka): he pulled it and tore it from its place or ripped a part from it so that what was behind appeared.
ومن قولهم في الدعاء والخبر: هتك الله ستر فلان، وهتك الأستار؛ شدد للكثرة.
And from their saying in supplication and report: May Allah tear the veil of so-and-so, and tear the veils; the verb is doubled for intensity (indicating many veils or repeated tearing).
ورجل منهتك ومتهتك ومستهتك: لا يبالي أن يهتك ستره عن عورته
And a man who is intahik, mutahattik, and mustahatik: does not care if his veil is torn from his private parts.
وكل ما انشق كذلك، فقد انهتك وتهتك
And anything that splits thus, has become torn (intahaka) and torn (tahattaka).

Torn (mutahattik) are the tufts of hair, dripping with fresh water.

I used to spend the night at the door of Ali's house, and when a portion (hatkah) of the night had passed, I said thus.

يقال: سرنا هتكة من الليل كأنه جعل الليل حجابا، فلما مضى منه ساعة فقد هتك بها طائفة منه.
It is said: We traveled a portion (hatkah) of the night, as if he made the night a veil, and when an hour of it passed, he had torn away a portion of it.
والهتكة: ساعة من الليل للقوم إذا ساروا.
And al-hatkah: an hour of the night for a people when they travel.
يقال: سرنا هتكة منها، وقد هاتكناها: سرنا في دجاها
It is said: We traveled a portion (hatkah) of it, and we have traveled through its darkness (hātaknāhā): we traveled in its deep night.
هاتكته حتى انجلت أكراؤه ... عني، وعن ملموسة أحناؤه
I traveled through its darkness (hātaktuhu) until its horizons cleared... from me, and its sides were touched.
والهتك: قطع الغرس تتمزق عن الولد، الواحدة هتكة
And al-hatk: the cutting of a seedling that tears away from the young plant, the single piece is a hatkah.

جلا هتكا كالريط عنه، فبينت ... مشابهه حدب العظام كواسيا
