Khalid said: Al-darmak is that which is ground until it becomes fine from everything, like flour, kohl, and other things; likewise, fine dust is darmak.
امسح من الدرمك عني فاكا،
Wipe the fine dust from your mouth for me.
إني أراك خاطبا كذاكا
Indeed, I see you proposing like that.
قال: والعرب تقول فلان كذاك أي سفلة من الناس.
He said: And the Arabs say 'so-and-so' meaning a low-class person.
