والمفنق: المترف؛
And al-mufannaq: the pampered one;
قال: لا ذنب لي كنت امرأ مفنقا، ... أغيد نوام الضحى غرونقا
He said: I am not to blame, I was a pampered man, ... graceful, sleeping until mid-morning, a 'ghurūnaqa'.
وجارية فنق ومفناق: جسيمة حسنة فتية منعمة.
And a 'fanaq' and 'mifnāq' slave girl: large, beautiful, young, and pampered.
قال شمر: لا أعرفه ولكن الفنق المنعمة.
Al-Asma'i said: I do not know it, but 'al-fanaq' means the pampered one.

أبو عمرو: الفنيقة الغرارة، وجمعها فنائق؛
Abu Amr: 'Al-fanīqa' is the 'ghurāra', and its plural is 'fanā'iq';

And he recited: As if beneath the heights and the 'fanā'iq', ... from its length, a marking on the high places.

وجمل فنق وفنيق مكرم مودع للفحلة؛

And in the hadith of 'Umayr bin Afsa, 'al-fanīq' is mentioned; it is the honored stud camel from the camels which is not ridden and not insulted due to its nobility among them;
ومننه حديث الجارود: كالفحل الفنيق ؛
