And in the hadith of Hudhayfah: 'What is the matter with these people who steal our 'a'lāq, meaning our precious possessions?'

And in the hadith: A woman came with her son to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and she had performed 'i'lāq for him from 'udrah, so he said: 'Why do you push your children with these 'ilaq? You should do such-and-such.'
والمعلق: العلبة إذا كانت صغيرة، ثم الجنبة أكبر منها تعمل من جنب الناقة، ثم الحوأبة أكبرهن
And 'mu'allaq: is a small box, then 'junbah' is larger than it, made from the side of a camel, then 'haw'abah' is the largest.
والمعلق: قدح يعلقه الراكب معه، وجمعه معالق
And 'mu'allaq: is a cup that a rider carries with him, and its plural is 'ma'ālīq.
والمعالق: العلاب الصغار، واحدها معلق
And 'ma'ālīq: are small cups, the singular of which is 'mu'allaq.
والمعلقة: متاع الراعي؛ عن اللحياني، أو قال: بعض متاع الراعي

And in the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud: 'A man in Mecca used to give two greetings, so he said: 'From where did you 'allaqaha', meaning learn it, since the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, used to do it?'
وفي حديث المقدام: أن النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: إن الرجل من أهل الكتاب يتزوج المرأة وما يعلق على يديها الخير وما يرغب واحد عن صاحبه حتى يموتا هرما
And in the hadith of Al-Miqdam: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'A man from the People of the Book marries a woman, and no good 'ya'laqu' on her hands, and neither one desires to leave the other until they die of old age.'

'We have a right; if we are given it, we take it, and if we are not given it, we ride the hindquarters of camels.' Al-Azhari said: The meaning of his saying 'we ride the hindquarters of camels' is that we are satisfied with clinging to the rear, because if access to the back is denied, one is satisfied with the camel's rear, which is the clinging.
