The fish 'tasallaqa' in the water if it rolls and twists.
وصلقه بالعصا يصلقه صلقا وصلقا: ضربه على أي موضع كان من يديه.
And he struck him with a stick, 'salqa' and 'salqa', on any part of his hands.
وصلقت الخيل إذا صدمت بغارتها.

That he 'tasallaqa' one night on his bed, meaning he twisted and turned, like a fish 'tasallaqa' in water when it goes and comes.
ثم صب فيه من الماء وهو يتصلق.
Then water was poured into it while it was writhing.
والصليقة: الخبزة الرقيقة والقطعة المشواة من اللحم؛
And the 'saliqa': a thin bread and a roasted piece of meat;
فقدما كان عيش أبيك مرا، ... يعيش بما تعيش به الكلاب
Your father's life was bitter, ... living as dogs live.
أما والله ما أجهل عن كراكر وأسنمة ولو شئت لدعوت بصلاء وصناب وصلائق ؛
By God, I do not lack knowledge of humps and fat-tails, and if I wished, I would call for 'silaa' and 'sinaab' and 'salaa'iq';
قيل: هي الرقاق، وقال أبو عمرو: السلائق، بالسين، كل ما سلق من البقول وغيرها، وقيل: هي الحملان المشوية من صلقت الشاة إذا شويتها.

And the 'saliqaa', extended: a type of bird.
والصلقم: الشديد؛ عن اللحياني، قال: والميم فيه زائدة، والجمع صلاقم وصلاقمة؛
And the 'salqam': the intense one; according to Al-Lihyani, he said: and the 'mim' is extra, and the plural is 'salaaqim' and 'salaaqimah';
جماد بها البسباس يرهص معزها ... بنات المخاض، والصلاقمة الحمرا
Barren land where the wild goat treads its young ... the young of camels, and the red 'salaaqimah'.
