يجوز أن يكون أراد بمغبرات المتون فوضع الواحد موضع الجمع ووصفه بالجمع، ويجوز أن يكون أراد سملقا فجعله سمالق كأن كل جزء منه سملق.
It is permissible that he intended dusty plains and used the singular in place of the plural and described it with the plural, and it is permissible that he intended a barren plain and made it barren plains, as if each part of it were a barren plain.
وامرأة سملق: لا تلد، شبهت بالأرض التي لا تنبت
