And a place that is 'zaliq', with harakah, means slippery, and it is originally the masdar of your saying 'his foot slipped, it slips, a slipping'.
وفي الحديث: كان اسمُ تُرْسِ النبيِّ، صلى الله عليه وسلم، الزَّلُوقَ أي يَزْلَقُ عنه السلاحُ فلا يَخْرِقُهُ.
And in the hadith: The name of the Prophet's shield, peace be upon him, was 'al-zaluq', meaning weapons would slide off it without penetrating.

And 'zalaqa al-makan' means to smooth the place.
وزَلَقَ رأْسَهُ يَزْلِقُهُ زَلْقاً: حَلَقَهُ.
And 'zalaqa ra'sahu yazliquhu zalqan' means to shave his head.
والتَّزْلِيقُ: تَمْلِيسُكَ الموضعَ حتى يصيرَ كالمَزْلَقَةِ، وإن لم يكن فيه ماءٌ.
And 'al-tazliq' is your smoothing of a place until it becomes like a slippery surface, even if there is no water in it.
يقولُ للذي يَحْلِقُ الرأسَ قد زَلَقَهُ وأزْلَقَهُ.
He says about the one who shaves the head, 'he has zalaqahu and azlaqahu'.
تَزَلَّقَ فلانٌ وتَزَيَّقَ إذا تَزَيَّنَ.
'Tazallaqa' fulan and 'tazayyaqa' if he adorned himself.
تَزَلَّقَ الرجلُ إذا تَنَعَّمَ حتى يكونَ للونِهِ بَرِيقٌ وبَصِيصٌ.
A man 'tazallaqa' if he became luxurious until his complexion had a sheen and sparkle.
وأزْلَقَتِ الفَرَسُ والناقةُ: أسْقَطَتْ، وهي مُزْلِقٌ، ألْقَتْ لغيرِ تمامٍ.
And a mare or she-camel 'azlaqat' means it miscarried, and it is 'muzliq', it dropped its young not to completion.
وإن كان ذلك عادةً لها فهي مُزْلاقٌ، والولدُ السِّقْطُ زَليقٌ؛ وفرسٌ مُزْلاقٌ: كثيرُ الإزْلاقِ.
And if that is its habit, then it is 'muzlaq', and the aborted fetus is 'zaliq'; and a mare that is 'muzlaq' is one that miscarries frequently.
أزْلَقَتِ الفَرَسُ إذا ألْقَتْ وَلَدَها تامّاً.
'Azlaqat' the mare if it dropped its foal complete.
إذا ألْقَتِ الناقةُ ولدَها قبلَ أن يَسْتَبِينَ خَلْقُهُ وقبلَ الوقتِ قيلَ أزْلَقَتْ وأجْهَضَتْ، وهي مُزْلِقٌ ومُجْهَضٌ.
If a she-camel drops its young before its form is clear and before the time, it is said 'azlaqat' and 'ajhadat', and it is 'muzliq' and 'mujhad'.
وناقةٌ زَلوقٌ وزَلُوجٌ: سريعةٌ.
And a she-camel that is 'zaluq' and 'zaluj' is swift.
ورِيحٌ زَيْلَقٌ: سريعةُ المَرِّ؛ عن كُراعٍ.
And a wind that is 'zaylaq' is fast-moving; according to Kura'.
والمِزْلاقُ: مِزْلاجُ البابِ أو لغةٌ فيه، وهو الذي يُغْلَقُ به البابُ ويُفْتَحُ بلا مفتاحٍ.
And 'al-mizlaq' is the bolt of the door or a variant pronunciation for it, which is what the door is closed with and opened without a key.
وأزْلَقَهُ ببَصَرِهِ: أحدَّ النظرَ إليه، وكذلك زَلَقَهُ زَلْقاً وزَلَقَهُ؛ عن الزجاجي.
And 'azlaqahu bi-basarihi' means to sharpen the gaze upon him, and likewise 'zalaqahu zalqan' and 'zalaqahu'; according to Al-Zajjaji.
ويقالُ: زَلَقَهُ وأزْلَقَهُ إذا نَحَّاهُ عن مَكانِهِ.
And it is said: 'zalaqahu' and 'azlaqahu' if he moved him from his place.
وإن يكادُ الذين كَفَروا لَيَزْلِقُونَكَ بأبصارِهِمْ ؛ أي ليُصِيبونَكَ بأعينِهِمْ فيُزيلونَكَ عن مَقامِكَ الذي جَعَلَهُ اللهُ لكَ.
And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost strike you with their eyes, meaning they would afflict you with their eyes and remove you from your station which Allah has made for you.
لَيَزْلِقُونَكَ أي لَيَرْمُونَكَ ويُزيلونَكَ عن مَوْضِعِكَ بأبصارِهِمْ، كما تقولُ كادَ يَصْرَعُني شِدَّةُ نَظَرِهِ.
'Layazliqunak' means they would throw you and remove you from your place with their eyes, as you say 'his intense gaze almost made me fall'.
ورجلٌ زَلِقٌ وزَمْلَقٌ مثالُ هَدْهَدٍ وزَمَالِقٌ وزَمْلَقٌ، بتشديدِ الميمِ: وهو الذي يَنْزِلُ قبلَ أن يُجَامِعَ.
And a man is 'zaliq' and 'zamlaq' (like 'hadhad') and 'zamaliq' and 'zamlaq', with a shaddah on the mim: meaning he ejaculates before intercourse.
يُدْعَى الجَلِيدَ وهو فينا الزَّمْلَقُ، لا آمَنُ جَلِيسَهُ ولا أَنَقُ، مَجُوعُ البَطْنِ كِلابِيُّ الخَلْقِ.
He is called Al-Jalid, and among us he is 'al-zamlaq', I do not trust his companion nor is he refined, hungry of stomach, of Kalabi creation.
والعَرَبُ تقولُ رجلٌ زَلِقٌ وزَمْلَقٌ، وهو الشَّكَّازُ الذي يَنْزِلُ إذا حَدَّثَ المرأةَ من غيرِ جِمَاعٍ.
And the Arabs say a man is 'zaliq' and 'zamlaq', meaning the one who ejaculates when speaking to a woman without intercourse.
والفِعْلُ منه زَمْلَقَ زَمْلَقَةً.
And the verb from it is 'zamlaqa zamlaqatan'.
