وقد جاء حنيق بمعنى محنق؛
And ḥanīq has come to mean muḥnaq;
والمحانيق الإبل الضمر.
And al-maḥānīq: the thin camels.
وأحنق إذا سمن فجاء بشحم كثير؛
And he became fat when he gained much fat;
وأحنق سنام البعير أي ضمر ودق.
And the camel's hump became emaciated, meaning it thinned and became slender.
وحمار محنق: ضمر من كثرة الضراب؛
And a muḥnaq donkey: thin from excessive mating;
وشهدت بمدلوك المعاقم محنق
And they witnessed the trampled flanks, emaciated.
