أمرهم محكم بعد كحزق حمل الحمار، وذلك أن الحمار يضطرب بحمله، فربما ألقاه فيحزق حزقا شديدا،

Their matter is firm afterwards like the severe straining of a donkey carrying its load, and that is because the donkey struggles with its load, and might drop it, so it strains severely,

الحزق الشد البليغ والتضييق؛ يقال: حزقه بالحبل إذا قوى شده؛

Al-ḥizq is eloquent tightening and constriction; it is said: 'He tied him with the rope' if he strengthened the tying;

قيل: هي لعبة من اللعب أخذت من التحزق التجمع.

It was said: it is a game taken from al-taḥazzuq, meaning gathering.
