And Ibn Al-A'rabi said: Al-maraafigh are the bases of the hands and thighs, and they have no singular from their form.
والأرفاغ: المغابن من الآباط وأصول الفخذين والحوالب وغيرها من مطاوي الأعضاء وما يجتمع فيه الوسخ والعرق
And al-arfagh: the folds of the armpits, the bases of the thighs, the groins, and other creases of the limbs where dirt and sweat gather.
والمرفوغة: التي التزق ختانها صغيرة فلا يصل إليها الرجال
And al-marfooghah: she whose circumcision was sealed when she was young, so men cannot reach her.
والرفغ: وسخ الظفر، وقيل: الوسخ الذي بين الأنملة والظفر
And ar-rafgh: dirt of the fingernail, and it was said: the dirt between the fingertip and the nail.
وفي الحديث: أن النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم، صلى فأوهم في صلاته فقيل له: يا رسول الله كأنك قد أوهمت، قال: وكيف لا أوهم ورفغ أحدكم بين ظفره وأنملته ؟
And in the hadith: The Prophet, peace be upon him, prayed and made a mistake in his prayer, and it was said to him: O Messenger of Allah, it is as if you made a mistake. He said: And how could I not make a mistake when one of you has dirt between his nail and fingertip?
قال الأصمعي: جمع الرفغ أرفاغ وهي الآباط والمغابن من الجسد يكون ذلك في الإبل والناس؛ قال أبو عبيد: ومعناه في هذا الحديث ما بين الأنثيين وأصول الفخذين وهي المغابن
Al-Asma'i said: The plural of ar-rafgh is arfagh, which are the armpits and body folds, whether in camels or humans; Abu Ubaid said: And its meaning in this hadith is what is between the two testicles and the bases of the thighs, which are the folds.
ومما يبين ذلك حديث عمر: إذا التقى الرفغان فقد وجب الغسل ، يريد إذا التقى ذلك من الرجل والمرأة ولا يكون هذا إلا بعد التقاء الختانين
And what clarifies that is the hadith of Umar: When the two rafghayn meet, ghusl becomes obligatory, meaning when that meets between a man and a woman, and this only happens after the meeting of the two circumcisions.
وفي الحديث: عشر من السنة كذا وكذا ونتف الرفغين أي الإبطين
And in the hadith: Ten things are from the Sunnah, such and such, and plucking the rafghayn, meaning the armpits.
وجعل الفراء الرفغين الإبطين في قوله في الحديث: عشر من السنة منها تقليم الأظفار ونتف الرفغين ؛ وهو في حديث النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم: ونتف الإبط
And Al-Farra' considered ar-rafghayn to be the armpits in his saying in the hadith: Ten things are from the Sunnah, including trimming the nails and plucking the rafghayn; and it is in the hadith of the Prophet, peace be upon him: and plucking the armpit.
ابن شميل: والرفغ من المرأة ما حول فرجها
Ibn Shumayl: And ar-rafgh for a woman is what is around her private parts.
وقال أعرابي: ترفغ الرجل المرأة إذا قعد بين فخذيها ليطأها
And an Arab said: A man taraffaga a woman when he sits between her thighs to have intercourse with her.
ويقال: ترفغ فلان فوق البعير إذا خشي أن يرمي به فلف رجليه عند ثيل البعير
And it is said: So-and-so taraffaga on top of the camel when he feared it would throw him, so he wrapped his legs around the camel's hump.
والرفغ: تبن الذرة؛ قال الشاعر: دونك بوغاء تراب الرفغ
And ar-rafgh: corn husks; a poet said: Here is dusty earth, the husks of corn.
والرفغ: أسفل الفلاة وأسفل الوادي
And ar-rafgh: the lower part of the plain and the lower part of the valley.

And ar-rafgh: the region; from Al-Akhfash; and the saying of Abu Dhu'ayb: He came to a village whose food was abundant, ... like the abundance of dust, everything supplied it, interpreted by all of that or most of it.
ابن الأعرابي: يقال هو في رفغ من قومه وفي رفغ من القرية إذا كان في ناحية منها وليس في وسط قومه
Ibn Al-A'rabi: It is said he is in a rafgh of his people and in a rafgh of the village if he is in a region of it and not in the midst of his people.
