And his saying 'does not walk with the swift one' means 'does not become numerous with the wolf'.
وقيل وقوله تمشي يكثر نسلها.
And it was said his saying 'walks' means 'its offspring become numerous'.
والهملع: الجمل السريع، وكذلك الناقة
And 'al-hamla'' is: the swift camel, and likewise the she-camel.
والهملع السير السريع
And 'al-hamla'' is the swift pace.
جاوزت أهوالا، وتحتي شيقب، ... تغدو برحلي، كالفنيق، هملع
I passed by dangers, and beneath me was a swift camel, ... it travels with my baggage, like a noble camel, swift.
وقيل: الهملع من الرجال الذي لا وفاء له ولا يدوم على إخاء أحد.
And it was said: 'al-hamla'' among men is one who has no loyalty and does not remain in anyone's brotherhood.
