And it is said: So-and-so cauterized his camel on its thigh with one or two light burns from the tip of the cauterizing iron.

والتذعت القرحة: قاحت، وقد لذعها القيح، والقرحة إذا قيحت تلتذع، والتذاع القرحة: احتراقها وجعا.

And the ulcer festered: it became purulent, and the pus stung it, and when an ulcer festers it burns with pain, and the 'tiladhdha'' of the ulcer is its burning with pain.

ولذع الطائر: رفرف ثم حرك جناحيه قليلا، والطائر يلذع الجناح من ذلك.

And the bird fluttered: it flapped then moved its wings a little, and the bird 'yal-dha'' the wing from that.

وفي حديث مجاهد في قوله: أولم يروا إلى الطير فوقهم صافات ويقبضن، قال: بسط أجنحتهن وتلذعهن.

And in the narration of Mujahid regarding His saying: 'Do they not see the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them?' He said: Spreading their wings and fluttering them.
