والتشنيع: التشمير
And girding up: is tucking up the garments.
وشنع الرجل: شمر وأسرع
And the man girded up: he tucked up his garments and hastened.
وشنعت الناقة وأشنعت وتشنعت: شمرت في سيرها وأسرعت وجدت، فهي مشنعة
And the she-camel hastened and sped up and exerted herself: she girded up in her pace, sped up, and found strength, so she is hastening.
والتشنع: الجد والانكماش في الأمر؛ عن ابن الأعرابي، تقول منه: تشنع القوم
And hastening: is seriousness and concentration in the matter; according to Ibn al-A'rabi, you say from it: the people became serious.
والشنعنع: الرجل الطويل
And al-shan'an': the tall man.
وتشنعت الغارة: بثثتها
And the raid was dispersed: you dispersed it.
والفرس والراحلة والقرن: ركبته وعلوته
And the horse, the riding camel, and the horn: you rode it and mounted it.
والسلاح: لبسته
And the weapon: you wore it.
