And its meaning is that wild beasts fell upon his livestock, so he likened the donkey, as it brays, to a servant who encountered a lion in his flock and is shouting at it to drive it away.
إحدى من سبع أي اشتدت فيها الفتيا وعظم أمرها

يجوز أن يكون شبهها بإحدى الليالي السبع التي أرسل الله فيها العذاب على عاد فضربها لها مثلا في الشدة لأشكالها

وقيل: أراد سبع سني يوسف الصديق، عليه السلام، في الشدة.
And it was said: it refers to the seven years of Prophet Joseph, peace be upon him, of hardship.

And God, may He be exalted, created the seven heavens, the seven earths, and the seven days.

And it is also said the musba' is the follower, and it is said: one who is born after seven months, whose development in the womb was not complete and whose months were not finished.
وسبعه يسبعه سبعا: طعن عليه وعابه وشتمه ووقع فيه بالقول القبيح.
And 'sab'ahu yasbi'uhu sab'an': he stabbed him, criticized him, insulted him, and spoke ill of him.
وسبعه أيضا: عضّه بسنه.
And 'sab'ahu' also means: he bit him with his teeth.
والسباع: الفخر بكثرة الجماع.
And 'as-sibaa'': boasting about frequent intercourse.
أنه نهى عن السباع ؛ قال ابن الأعرابي: السباع الفخار كأنه نهى عن المفاخرة بالرفث وكثرة الجماع والإعراب بما يكنى به عنه من أمر النساء
That he forbade 'as-sibaa''; Ibn al-A'rabi said: 'as-sibaa'' is boasting, as if he forbade boasting about obscenity and frequent intercourse and speaking openly about women.
وقيل: هو أن يتساب الرجلان فيرمي كل واحد صاحبه بما يسوؤه من سبعه أي انتقصه وعابه
And it was said: it is when two men insult each other, and each throws at his companion what displeases him from his 'sab' (criticism), meaning he diminished him and found fault with him.
وفي الحديث: أنه صب على رأسه الماء من سباع كان منه في رمضان ؛
And in the hadith: that he poured water on his head from 'sibaa'' that occurred from him in Ramadan;
أطلال دار بالسباع فحمة ... سألت، فلما استعجمت ثم صمت
Traces of a dwelling in As-Sibaa', a dark place... I asked, but when the signs became obscure, then it fell silent
مررت على وادي السباع، ولا أرى، ... كوادي السباع حين يظلم، واديا
