لو يمر على القصب الرعراع لم يسمع صوته
If one were to pass by the tall reeds, one would not hear his voice.
هو الطويل من ترعرع الصبي إذا نشأ وكبر
It is the tall one, from the boy growing (developing) when he matures and grows.
رعرع الفارس دابته إذا لم يكن ريضا فركبه ليروضه
The horseman trained his mount if it was not broken in, and rode it to tame it.
