And al-raṣī'ah: is a strap braided between the sword's suspension and its scabbard, or it was said: braided straps at the lower parts of the sword's suspension, singular raṣā'ah, and the plural is raṣā'i' and raṣī' like sha'īrah and sha'īr; they treated the manufactured as the natural, and it is more common in the natural.
وصار الرصيع نهية للحمائل أي انقلبت سيوفهم فصارت أعاليها أسافلها وكانت الحمائل على أعناقهم فنكست فصار الرصيع في موضع الحمائل، وقد تقدم ذلك في رسع؛ والنهية: الغاية.
And al-raṣī' became a limit for the suspension, meaning their swords were overturned so their tops became their bottoms, and the suspensions were on their necks, so they were inverted, and al-raṣī' was in the place of the suspensions, and this was previously mentioned under ras'a; and al-nihyah is the limit.
والرصائع: مشك أعالي الضلوع في الصلب، واحدها رصع، وهو نادر؛
And al-raṣā'i': is the interlocking of the upper ribs in the spine, singular raṣ', and it is rare.
وقال أبو عبيدة في كتاب الخيل: الرصائع واحدتها رصيعة وهي مشك محاني أطراف الضلوع من ظهر الفرس.
And Abu Ubaidah said in the Book of Horses: Al-raṣā'i', its singular is raṣī'ah, and it is the interlocking of the curves of the edges of the ribs from the horse's back.

And al-tarṣī': is the setting. It is said: a crown inlaid with jewels and a sword inlaid, meaning adorned with al-raṣā'i', which are rings used for adornment, singular raṣī'ah.

And the birds, sheep, and sparrows have copulated.

Ibn al-A'rābī: Al-raṣṣā' is one who has much intercourse, and its origin is in the bird that copulates frequently.
