And Al-Kisa'i and Abu Zayd said: 'dam'at, with a fatha on the mim, and nothing else.'

And al-dam', with a damma on the dal, and al-dimā', both mean: a brand mark on camels in the tear duct area.
وقال أبو علي في التذكرة: والدمع سمة في مدمع العين خط صغير، وبعير مدموع.
And Abu Ali said in the book of remembrance: And al-dam' is a small line brand mark in the tear duct of the eye, and a camel is madmū'.
وقال ابن شميل: الدماع ميسم في المناظر سائل إلى المنخر، وربما كان عليه دماعان.
And Ibn Shumayl said: Al-dimā' is a brand mark on the face extending to the nostril, and sometimes it has two dimā' on it.
ودمع المطر: سال، على المثل؛ قال: فبات يأذى من رذاذ دمعا
And the rain shed tears: it flowed, by analogy; he said: So he spent the night being bothered by the drizzling rain.
ويوم دماع: ذو رذاذ.

Abu Adnan said: Among the waters are al-madāmi', which is what drips from the side of a mountain; he said: And the sun's eyes and nostrils shed tears, ... and they emerge from one desert to another.
فقال: هي الظهيرة إذا سال لعاب الشمس.
He said: It is the midday heat when the sun's saliva flows.
وقال الغنوي: إذا عطشت الدواب ذرفت عيونها وسالت مناخرها.
And Al-Ghanawi said: When the animals are thirsty, their eyes shed tears and their nostrils flow.
وشجة دامعة: تسيل دما، وهي بعد الدامية، فإن الدامية هي التي تدمى من غير أن يسيل منها دم، فإذا سال منها دم فهي الدامعة، بالعين غير المعجمة؛
And a bleeding wound: one that flows with blood, and it is after the 'damiyah' (a wound that bleeds without flowing), for the 'damiyah' is one that is reddened without blood flowing from it, but if blood flows from it, it is the 'dāmi'ah', with a 'ayn not a hamzah;
وقال ابن الأثير: هو أن يسيل الدم منها قطرا كالدمع.
And Ibn Al-Athir said: It is when blood flows from it drop by drop like tears.
والدماع ودماع الكرم: هو ما يسيل منه أيام الربيع.
And al-dimā' and dimā' al-karam: is what flows from it during the days of spring.
وأدمع الإناء إذا ملأه حتى يفيض.
And the vessel overflowed if it was filled until it spilled.
وقدح دمعان إذا امتلأ فجعل يسيل من جوانبه.
And a cup is dam'ān if it is full and begins to flow from its sides.
والإدماع: ملء الإناء.
And al-idmā': filling the vessel.
يقال: أدمع مشقرك أي قدحك، قاله ابن الأعرابي.
It is said: 'Idma' mushqirak', meaning your cup, said Ibn Al-A'rabi.
والدماع: نبت، ليس بثبت.
And al-dimā': a plant, it is not firmly established.
والدماع، بالضم: ماء العين من علة أو كبر، ليس الدمع؛ وقال: يا من لعين لا تني تهماعا، ... قد ترك الدمع بها دماعا
And al-dimā', with a damma: is the fluid of the eye from illness or old age, not tears; and he said: 'O you whose eye never ceases to weep, ... the tears have left fluid in it.'
والدمع: السيلان من الراووق، وهو مصفاة الصباغ.
And al-dam': the dripping from the sieve, which is the dyer's filter.
