Or 'al-taabi'iina ghayri uli al-irbah'; Tha'lab explained it, saying: they are the followers of the husband from those who serve him.
وكنت تبيعا لطلحة بن عبيد الله أي خادما
And I was a 'tabi'' to Talhah ibn 'Ubayd Allah, meaning a servant.
وتابع بين الأمور متابعة وتباعا: واتر ووالى
And 'taaba'a' between matters 'mutaaba'atan' and 'tiba'an': he did them consecutively and successively.
وتتابعت الأشياء: تبع بعضها بعضا
And things 'tataaba'at': some of them followed others.
والتابعة: الرئي من الجن، ألحقوه الهاء للمبالغة أو لتشنيع الأمر أو على إرادة الداهية
And 'al-taabi'ah': is the jinn, they added the haa' for exaggeration or to emphasize the matter or with the intention of a calamity.

فقلت: أتبعك على أبي بن كعب أي أسند قراءتك ممن أخذتها وأحل على من سمعتها منه
So I said: 'I follow you on the authority of Ubayy ibn Ka'b', meaning: attribute your recitation to whom you took it from and transfer it to whom you heard it from.
يقال للذي له عليك مال يتابعك به أي يطالبك به: تبيع
It is said to the one who has money owed to you, who pursues you for it, meaning demands it from you: 'tabi''.
ما المال الذي ليس فيه تبعة من طالب ولا ضيف؟
What is the wealth that has no 'tabi'ah' from a claimant or a guest?
والتبع: الذي يتبعك بحق يطالبك به وهو الذي يتبع الغريم بما أحيل عليه
And 'al-taba'': is the one who follows you with a right, demanding it from you, and he is the one who follows the debtor for what he has been transferred to.
فيغرقكم بما كفرتم ثم لا تجدوا لكم علينا به تبيعا
And He drowns you because you disbelieved, then you will not find for yourselves against Us any 'tabi'' (pursuer or avenger).
فاتباع بالمعروف وأداء إليه بإحسان
Then pursuit in kindness and performance to him in kindness.
والتبعة والتباعة: ما اتبعت به صاحبك من ظلامة ونحوها
And 'al-tabi'ah' and 'al-tabaa'ah': is what you follow your companion with from a grievance or the like.
ما عليه من الله في هذا تبعة ولا تباعة
He has no 'tabi'ah' or 'tabaa'ah' from God in this matter.
أتبع الفرس لجامها، يضرب مثلا للرجل يؤمر برد الصنيعة وإتمام الحاجة
'The horse follows its bridle', it is a proverb used for a man who is ordered to return a favor and complete a need.
