When the revelation descended upon him, he felt a heaviness in his head.
أي أنه أدركه الثقل فوضع رأسه
Meaning the burden overcame him, so he laid down his head.
يقال: ضربه فوقطه أي أثقله

ويروى بالظاء بمعناه كأن الظاء فيه عاقبت الذال من وقذت الرجل أقذه إذا أثخنته بالضرب

And I think the correct reading is 'fawadhadhatni', with a dhal (ذ), meaning you broke me and weakened me.
