ويقال: قناة مشظة إذا كانت جديدة صلبة تمشظ بها يد من تناولها
And it is said: a spear shaft is tough if it is new, hard, and injures the hand of the one who grasps it.
وكل فتى أخي هيجا شجاع ... على خيفانة مشظ شظاها
And every brave young man, brother of arousal... on a swift she-camel whose wood is hard.
والمشظ أيضا: المشق
And al-mashẓ is also: al-mashq (fissure).
وهو أيضا تشقق في أصول الفخذين
And it is also a cracking in the roots of the thighs.
قد رث منه مشظ فحجحجا
A fissure has become worn from it, causing him to recoil.
