And likewise, I read in the rare works of Ibn Buzrij, in the handwriting of Abu Al-Haytham, which I recognized as his: 'ajfa'aẓat', with a jim, and the 'ha' is a textual corruption.
قال الأزهري: وقد ذكر الليث هذا الحرف في كتاب الجيم، قال: فظننت أنه كان متحيرا فيه فذكره في موضعين.
Al-Azhari said: Al-Layth mentioned this word in the book of the jim, he said: I thought he was confused about it, so he mentioned it in two places.
اجفاظت الجيفة انتفخت
The corpse became bloated; it swelled.
قال: وربما قالوا اجفأظت فيحركون الألف لاجتماع الساكنين
He said: And perhaps they say 'ajfa'aẓat', and they move the alif to avoid the meeting of two silent letters.
ابن بزرج: المجفئظ الميت المنتفخ.
Ibn Buzrij: 'Al-Majfa'iẓ' is the bloated dead.
والمجفئظ الذي أصبح على شفا الموت من مرض أو شر أصابه.
And 'Al-Majfa'iẓ' is one who has become on the brink of death from an illness or an evil that befell him.
