The she-camel experienced labor pains (with kasra), she went into labor like 'sami'a yasma'u samā'an', and 'makhadat': the labor pains seized her, and likewise other animals.
وكل حامل ضربها الطلق، فهي ماخض.
And every pregnant female struck by labor pains is called mākhid.
فَأَجَاءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ إِلَى جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ ، الْمَخَاضُ وجع الولادة وهو الطلق.
And the pangs of childbirth drove her to the trunk of the palm tree; al-makhāḍ is the pain of birth, which is labor.
ناقة ماخض ومخوض وهي التي ضربها المخاض، وقد مخضت تمخض مخاضا، وإنها لتمخض بولدها، وهو أن يضرب الولد في بطنها حتى تنتج فتمتخض.
A pregnant she-camel and a she-camel in labor, which is one struck by labor pains, and she has gone into labor, experiencing labor pains, and she is in labor with her offspring, which is the offspring striking in her belly until she gives birth and is delivered.
وأنشد: مخضت بها ليلة كلها، ... فجئت بها مؤيدا خنفقيقا
And he recited: I labored with her all night, ... and brought her forth strong and healthy.
إذا أرادت الناقة أن تضع قيل مخضت، وعامة قيس وتميم وأسد يقولون مخضت، بكسر الميم، ويفعلون ذلك في كل حرف كان قبل أحد حروف الحلق في فعلت وفعيل، يقولون بعير وزئير وشهيق، ونهلت الإبل وسخرت منه.
When a she-camel intends to give birth, it is said 'makhadat'. The majority of Qays, Tamim, and Asad say 'makhadat' (with kasra on the mim), and they do this for every letter that precedes one of the throat letters in the pattern 'fa'alta' and 'fa'īl', saying 'ba'īr' and 'za'īr' and 'shahīq', and the camels drank and laughed at him.
وأمخض الرجل: مخضت إبله.
And the man caused his camels' milk to be churned: his camels' milk was churned.
قالت ابنة الخس الإيادي لأبيها: مخضت الفلانية لناقة أبيها، قال: وما علمك؟ قالت: الصلا راج، والطرف لاج، وتمشي وتفاج، قال: أمخضت يا بنتي فاعقلي؛ راج: يرتج. ولاج: يلج في سرعة الطرف. وتفاج: تباعد ما بين رجليها.
The daughter of Al-Khus Al-Iyādī said to her father: 'So-and-so's she-camel has been milked for us.' He said: 'And what is your knowledge?' She said: 'The udder is shaking, the gaze is quick, and she walks with wide legs.' He said: 'She has been milked, my daughter, so understand.'
والأنثى ابنة مخاض.
And the female is bint makhāḍ.
وقال ثعلب: المخاض العشار يعني التي أتى عليها من حملها عشرة أشهر؛ وقال ابن سيده: لم أجد ذلك إلا له أعني أن يعبر عن المخاض بالعشار.
And Tha'lab said: Al-makhāḍ are the pregnant ones, meaning those whose pregnancy has reached ten months; and Ibn Sīdah said: I have not found this except from him, meaning to express al-makhāḍ by al-'ushār.
وجدت نهشلا فضلت فقيما، ... كفضل ابن المخاض على الفصيل
We found Nahshal superior, ... like the superiority of the ibn makhāḍ over the young camel calf.
في خمس وعشرين من الإبل بنت مخاض ؛
In twenty-five camels, a bint makhāḍ (is due as zakat).
فاعمد إلى شاة ممتلئة مخاضا وشحما أي نتاجا، وقيل: أراد به المخاض الذي هو دنو الولادة أي أنها امتلأت حملا وسمنا.
So aim for a sheep full of offspring and fat, meaning producing young; and it was said: he meant al-makhāḍ which is the approach of birth, meaning she has become full of pregnancy and fat.
دع الماخض والربى ؛ هي التي أخذها المخاض لتضع.
Leave the one in labor and the young ones being raised; she is the one whom labor pains have seized to give birth.
أن امرأة زارت أهلها فمخضت عندهم أي تحرك الولد عندهم في بطنها للولادة فضربها المخاض.
That a woman visited her family and experienced labor pains among them, meaning the child moved among them in her belly for birth, and the labor pains struck her.
والمخاض: الإبل حين يرسل فيها الفحل في أول الزمان حتى يهدر، لا واحد لها، قال: هكذا وجد حتى يهدر، وفي بعض الروايات: حتى يفدر أي ينقطع عن الضراب، وهو مثل بذلك.
And al-makhāḍ: camels when the stud is sent among them early in the season until they bellow, it has no singular; he said: thus it was found until they bellow, and in some narrations: until they stop, meaning they cease mating, and this is a simile.
مخض اللبن يمخضه ويمخضه ويمخضه مخضا ثلاث لغات، فهو ممخوض ومخيض: أخذ زبده، وقد تمخض.
Makhḍ of milk: yamakhiḍuhu, yamkhuḍuhu, and yamkhuḍuhu makhḍan, three linguistic variations, so it is mumakhōḍ and makhīḍ: its butter has been extracted, and it has been churned.
لقد تمخض في قلبي مودتها، ... كما تمخض في إبريجه اللبن
Its affection churned within my heart, ... as milk churns in its churn.
والسحاب يمخض بمائه ويتمخض، والدهر يتمخض بالفتنة؛ قال: وما زالت الدنيا تخون نعيمها، ... وتصبح بالأمر العظيم تمخض
And the clouds churn with their water and churn, and time churns with tribulation; he said: And the world has not ceased betraying its blessings, ... and waking up to a great matter churning.

And the night brought forth a day of evil if its morning was an evil morning, and this is a simile, and likewise fate and others bring forth; he said: Fate brought forth for him a day ... when its time came, and for every pregnant female there is completion.
ومخضت بالدلو إذا نهزت بها في البئر؛ وأنشد: إن لنا قليذما هموما، ... يزيدها مخض الدلا جموما
And I churned with the bucket when I dipped it into the well; and he recited: We have a great burden of worries, ... the churning of the buckets increases them abundantly.
وفي الحديث: أنه مر عليه بجنازة تمخض مخضا أي تحرك تحريكا سريعا.
And in the Hadith: that he passed by a funeral that was moving rapidly, meaning moving quickly.
صب الله عليك أم حبين ماخضا، تعني الليل.
