And al-ma'ṣūṣ is the one who has lost flesh (emaciated).
ويقال: فلان ضيق العصعص أي نكد قليل الخير، وهو من إضافة الصفة المشبهة إلى فاعلها.
And it is said: 'So-and-so is narrow of the tailbone' meaning he is unpleasant, little in good; and this is from the addition of the quasi-adjective to its subject.
