And in the Hadith: 'No 'shakhs' is more jealous than God'; 'al-shakhs' means every body that has height and prominence, and what is meant is the affirmation of the Self, so the word 'shakhs' was borrowed for it, and in another narration it came: 'Nothing is more jealous than God'.

And 'al-shakhis': the one of great stature, and the female is 'shakhisa', and the noun is 'al-shakhassa'.

A man is 'shakhis' if he is a chief, and it is said: 'shakhis' if he has great presence and noble character among people.

And the archer 'ashkhassa' when his arrow surpassed the target from above it, and it is a 'shākhis' arrow.

And 'al-shukhūs': traveling from one country to another.
وقولهم: نحن على سفر قد أشخصنا أي حان شخوصنا.
And their saying: 'We are on a journey, we have 'ashkhassnā' means our departure time has come.

And in the Hadith mentioning the deceased: 'If his gaze is raised'; 'shukhūs al-basar' is the raising of the eyelids upwards, fixing the sight, and agitation.
وشخص به: أتى إليه أمر يقلقه.
And 'shakhkhassa' bihi: something came to him that agitated him.
يقال للرجل إذا أتاه ما يقلقه: قد شخص به كأنه رفع من الأرض لقلقه وانزعاجه، ومنه شخوص المسافر خروجه عن منزله.
It is said of a man when something comes to him that agitates him: 'He has been 'shakhkhassa' bihi' as if he were lifted from the ground by his agitation and distress, and from this is the 'shukhūs' of the traveler, his departure from his home.
وشخصت الكلمة في الفم تشخص إذا لم يقدر على خفض صوته بها.
And the word 'tashakhkhassa' in the mouth if one could not lower their voice with it.
وشخص عن أهله يشخص شخوصا: ذهب.
And he 'shakhkhassa' from his family, 'shukhūsan': he went.
وشخص إليهم: رجع، وأشخصه هو.
And he 'shakhkhassa' to them: he returned, and he ('ashkhassa') caused him to return.
وفي حديث عثمان: إنما يقصر الصلاة من كان شاخصا أو بحضرة عدو أي مسافرا.
And in the narration of Uthman: Prayer is shortened only by one who is 'shākhis' (traveling) or in the presence of an enemy, meaning a traveler.
والشاخص: الذي لا يغب الغزو؛ عن ابن الأعرابي؛ وأنشد: أما تريني اليوم ثلبا شاخصا
And 'al-shākhis': one who does not miss raiding; from Ibn al-A'rabi; and he recited: Do you not see me today as a 'shākhis' old man?
وبنو شخيص: بطين، قال ابن سيده: أحسبهم انقرضوا.
And Banu Shakhis: a tribe, Ibn Sayyidah said: I think they have become extinct.
وشخصان: موضع؛ قال الحرث بن حلزة: أوقدتها بين العقيق فشخصين ... بعود، كما يلوح الضياء
And Shakhsain: a place; Al-Harith ibn Hillizah said: I lit it between Al-Aqiq and Shakhsain... with wood, like the glimmer of light.
