And 'anāsuhu from the adornments of her ears; she meant that it was adornments for her ears, a hoop and pendants that dangled from her ears.
ويقال للغصن الدقيق إذا هبت به الريح فهزته: فهو ينوس وينوع، وقد تنوس وتنوع وكثر نوسانه.
And it is said of a slender branch when the wind blows and shakes it: it sways and moves, and it may sway and move, and its swaying is abundant.

دخلت على حفصة ونوساتها تنطف أي ذوائبها تقطر ماء، فسمى الذوائب نوسات لأنها تتحرك كثيرا،
I entered upon Hafsa and her nawsāt were dripping, meaning her locks of hair were dripping water, so he called the locks of hair nawsāt because they move a lot,
ونست الإبل أنوسها نوسا: سقتها.
And the camels were watered, 'anūsuhā nawsan: he gave them water.
ورجل نواس، بالتشديد، إذا اضطرب واسترخى، وناس لعابه سال فاضطرب.
And a man is nawwās, with shadda, if he is agitated and relaxed, and his saliva flowed and was agitated.
والنواس: ما تعلق من السقف.
And an-nawwās: what hangs from the ceiling.
ونواس العنكبوت: نسجه لاضطرابه.
And an-nawwās of the spider: its web, due to its oscillating nature.
والنواسي: ضرب من العنب أبيض مدور الحب متشلشل العناقيد طويلها مضطربها، قال: ولا أدري إلى أي شيء نسب إلا أن يكون مما نسب إلى نفسه كدوار ودواري، وإن لم يسمع النواس هاهنا،
