وأصله قلنسو إلا أنك رفضت الواو لأنه ليس في الأسماء اسم آخره حرف علة وقبلها ضمة

And its origin is qalansaw, except that you rejected the waw because there is no noun ending in a weak letter preceded by a damma.

فإذا أدى إلى ذلك قياس وجب أن يرفض ويبدل من الضمة كسرة فيصير آخر الاسم ياء مكسورا ما قبلها

And if the analogy leads to that, it must be rejected and the damma replaced by a kasra, so the end of the noun becomes a ya with the preceding letter in kasra.

وكذلك القول في أحق وأدل جمع حقو ودلو، وأشباه ذلك فقس عليه

And the same applies to ahqq and adl, the plural of haqqaw and dallaw, and similar cases, so analogize from them.

وأما جمع القلنسية فقلاس

And as for the plural of al-qalansiya, it is qalas.

وعندي أن القلنسية ليست بلغة كما اعتدها أبو عبيد إنما هي تصغير أحد هذه الأشياء

And I believe that al-qalansiya is not a language as Abu Ubaid considered it, but rather it is a diminutive of one of these things.

And the plural of al-qalasa is qalas, and nothing else.

And we have not heard qalsa in it like 'alaqa.
