And the Arabs said about curdled milk: this is a mute brick of milk, no sound is heard from it when poured.
وشربة خرساء وهي الشربة الغليظة من اللبن
And a mute drink, which is a thick drink of milk.
ولبن أخرس أي خاثر لا يسمع له في الإناء صوت لغلظه
And mute milk, meaning thick milk, no sound is heard from it in the container due to its thickness.
وعين خرساء وسحابة خرساء لا رعد فيها ولا برق ولا يسمع لها صوت رعد
And a mute spring and a mute cloud, no thunder or lightning in it, and no sound of thunder is heard from it.
يقال ولاني عرضا أخرس أمرس؛ يريد أعرض عني ولا يكلمني
It is said: he turned away from me in a mute, indifferent manner; meaning he turned away from me and did not speak to me.

And al-kharsāʾ: the calamity.

And by Allah, may the eye see like Maqīs, when the woman in childbirth was not given food.
وفي الحديث في صفة التمر: هي صمتة الصبي وخرسة مريم
And in the hadith describing dates: it is the silence of the child and the childbirth food of Mary.
والخرس، بلا هاء: الطعام الذي يدعى إليه عند الولادة
And al-khurs, without hāʾ: the food to which one is invited at childbirth.

Upon them are all well-made, smooth garments, as if their adornments are the eyes of snakes.

And Khorasan: a region, the attribution to it is Khorasani.
وهو أجود، وخراسي وخرسي، ويقال: هم خرسان كما يقال هم سودان وبيضان
And it is the best, and Khorasi and Khursi, and it is said: they are Khursān as it is said they are Sudan and Bayḍān.
في البيت من خرسان لا تعاب
In the house of Khursān, no fault is found.
لا تكرين بعدها خرسيا
Do not be stingy after that, O Khursi.
