وجمس وجمد بمعنى واحد.

إن جعلت الجمس من نعت الفطس وتريد بها التمر كان معناه الصلب العلك

And if you make it from the description of the butter, its meaning is solid.
قال: وقال الزمخشري الجمس، بالفتح، الجامد، وبالضم: جمع جمسة، وهي البسرة التي أرطبت كلها وهي صلبة لم تنهضم بعد.
He said: And Al-Zamakhshari said, al-jams, with fatha, means solid, and with damma: it is the plural of jamsah, which is the busrah that has ripened entirely while it is still firm and not yet soft.
والجاموس: الكمأة.

والجماميس الكمأة، قال: ولم أسمع لها بواحد
And al-jamāmīs are truffles, he said: and I have not heard a singular for it.
