And al-mikhraz from birds and pigeons: that which on its wings has markings and embellishments resembling stitching.
والخرزة: حمضة من النجيل ترتفع قدر الذراع خضراء ترتفع خيطانا من أصل واحد لا ورق لها، لكنها منظومة من أعلاها إلى أسفلها حبا مدورا أخضر في غير علاقة كأنها خرز منظوم في سلك، وهي تقتل الإبل.
And al-kharzah: a type of sour plant from the grass family, about a cubit high, green, rising in threads from a single root without leaves, but it is strung from top to bottom with round green seeds without attachment, as if they were beads strung on a wire, and it kills camels.

ويقال: كان الملك إذا ملك عاما زيدت في تاجه خرزة ليعلم عدد سني ملكه؛

قال: خرزة يقال لها خرزة العقر «1» تشدها المرأة على حقويها لئلا تحمل.
He said: A kharazah called kharzat al-'aqr, which a woman ties around her waist to prevent pregnancy.
