طَبَاهُنَّ، حَتَّى أُطْفِلَ اللَّيْلُ دُونَهَا، ... نُفَاطِيرُ وَسُمِّيَ رَوَاءُ جُذُورِهَا أَيْ دَعَاهُنَّ نُفَاطِيرُ وَسُمِّيَ.

وَالنَّفَاطِيرُ: نَبَذٌ مِنَ النَّبْتِ يَقَعُ فِي مَوَاقِعَ مِنَ الأَرْضِ مُخْتَلِفَةٍ.
And Al-Nufāṭīr: scattered patches of plants that fall in various locations on the ground.
وَيُقَالُ: النَّفَاطِيرُ أَوَّلُ النَّبْتِ.
And it is said: Al-Nufāṭīr is the first of the plants.
وَمِنْ هَذَا أُخِذَ نُفَاطِيرُ البَثَرِ.
And from this, Nufāṭīr of pimples was derived.
وَأَطْفَلَ اللَّيْلُ أَيْ أَظْلَمَ.
And Aṭfala al-layl means it became dark.
وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ: النَّفَاطِيرُ مِنَ النَّبَاتِ وَهُوَ رِوَايَةُ الأَصْمَعِيِّ.
And some of them said: Al-Nufāṭīr refers to plants, and this is the narration of Al-Aṣmaʿī.
وَالتَّفَاطِيرُ، بِالتَّاءِ: النُّورُ.
And Al-Tafāṭīr, with a Tāʾ: the flowers.
