والقرارة: ما بقي في القدر بعد الغرف منها

وقر القدر يقرها قرا: فرغ ما فيها من الطبيخ وصب فيها ماء باردا كيلا تحترق

وتقررت الإبل: صبت بولها على أرجلها

والاقترار: أن تأكل الناقة اليبيس والحبة فيتعقد عليها الشحم فتبول في رجليها من خثورة بولها
And al-iqtirār: a she-camel eating dry fodder and seeds, causing fat to congeal on it, so it urinates on its legs from the thickness of its urine.
وقررت الناقة ببولها تقريرا إذا رمت به قرة بعد قرة أي دفعة بعد دفعة خاثرا من أكل الحبة
And the she-camel urinated with its urine repeatedly, if it produced it drop after drop, thick from eating the seeds.
وقر الكلام والحديث في أذنه يقره قرا: فرغه وصبه فيها، وقيل هو إذا ساره
And speech and talk were poured into his ear, it is poured and cast into it, and it is said to be when it is whispered.
وهو أن تضع فاك على أذنه فتجهر بكلامك كما يفعل بالأصم
And it is to place your mouth on his ear and speak loudly as one does to the deaf.
فيأتي بها إلى الكاهن فيقرها في أذنه كما تقر القارورة إذا أفرغ فيها
So the devil brings it to the soothsayer and implants it in his ear as a flask is filled when poured into it.
والقر: الفروج
And al-qurr: the private parts.
واقتتر بالماء البارد: اغتسل
And he washed with cold water: he performed ablution.
وقر عليه الماء يقره: صبه
And water was poured on him, it is poured: he poured it.
قررت على رأسه دلوا من ماء بارد أي صببته
I poured a bucket of cold water on his head, meaning I poured it.
والقر، بالضم: القرار في المكان
And al-qurr, with dammah: settling in a place.
واستقر وتقار واقتره فيه وعليه وقرره وأقره في مكانه فاستقر
And he settled, and he became stable, and he settled in it and upon it, and he was made to settle, and he was made to settle in his place, so he settled.
وفلان ما يتقار في مكانه أي ما يستقر
And so-and-so does not taqār in his place, meaning he does not settle.
أقرت الصلاة بالبر والزكاة؟، وروي: قرت أي استقرت معهما وقرنت بهما
Did prayer settle with righteousness and charity? And it was narrated: it settled, meaning it became stable with them and was joined with them.
فلم أتقار أن قمت أي لم ألبث
So I did not wait to stand up, meaning I did not delay.
غَنِّنَا غَنَاءَ أَهْلِ القَرَارِ أي أهل الحضر المستقرين في منازلهم
Sing to us the singing of the people of al-qarār, meaning the settled people in their homes.
ولكم في الأرض مستقر*؛ أي قرار وثبوت
And for you is a mustaqarr on earth; meaning a settlement and permanence.
لكل نبإ مستقر؛ أي لكل ما أنبأتكم عن الله عز وجل غاية ونهاية ترونه في الدنيا والآخرة
For every tidings is a mustaqarr; meaning for everything I have informed you about from God Almighty, there is an end and a limit that you will see in this world and the hereafter.
الشمس تجري لمستقر لها؛ أي لمكان لا تتجاوزه وقتا ومحلا وقيل لأجل قدر لها
The sun runs to a mustaqarr for it; meaning to a place it does not exceed in time or location, and it is said for a destined purpose.
وقرن وقرن، هو كقولك ظلن وظلن
And qarna and qarna, it is like your saying dhallna and dhallna.
وقرن في بيوتكن؛ هو من الوقار
And qarna in your houses; it is from dignity.
واقررن في بيوتكن، فحذف الراء الأولى وحولت فتحتها في القاف، كما قالوا: هل أحست صاحبك
And iqrarna in your houses, so the first ra was deleted and its fatha was transferred to the qaf, as they said: Hal aḥasta ṣāḥibak.
وقررت بالمكان أقر وقررت أقر
And I settled in the place, I settle, and I settled, I settle.
قاروا الصلاة، هو من القرار لا من الوقار، ومعناه السكون، أي اسكنوا فيها ولا تتحركوا ولا تعبثوا
Be still in prayer, it is from al-qarār, not from al-waqār, and its meaning is stillness, meaning be still in it and do not move or fidget.
وقررت عنده الخبر حتى استقر

والقرور من النساء: التي تقر لما يصنع بها لا ترد المقبل والمراود

Al-maqarrah is the large basin where water is collected, and al-qarārah is the round depression.
