الليث: غزرت الناقة والشاة كثر لبنها، فهي تغزر غزارة، وهي غزيرة كثيرة اللبن.
Al-Layth said: The she-camel and the ewe became abundant in milk, their milk increased, so she produces abundance, and she is ghazira, abundant in milk.
وفي الحديث: من منح منيحة لبن بكيئة كانت أو غزيرة ؛ أي كثيرة اللبن.
And in the Hadith: Whoever gives a gift of milk, whether it be little or abundant; meaning abundant in milk.
وفي حديث أبي ذر: هل يثبت لكم العدو حلب شاة؟ قالوا: نعم وأربع شياه غزر ؛ هي جمع غزيرة كثيرة اللبن؛ قال ابن الأثير: هكذا جاء في رواية والمعروف بالعين المهملة والزايين جمع عزوز، وسيأتي ذكره؛ ومطر غزير ومعروف غزير وعين غزيرة الماء.
And in the Hadith of Abu Dharr: Can you hold your ground against the enemy milking one sheep? They said: Yes, and four sheep with abundant milk; it is the plural of ghazira, abundant in milk; Ibn al-Athir said: This is how it came in one narration, and what is known with the unpointed 'ayn and two zays is the plural of 'azuz, which will be mentioned later; and abundant rain, and known abundant, and a spring abundant with water.
قال أبو منصور: ويقال ناقة ذات غزر أي ذات غزارة وكثرة اللبن.
Abu Mansur said: And it is said a she-camel with abundance, meaning with abundance and plenty of milk.
ابن الأعرابي: المغازرة أن يهدي الرجل شيئا تافها لآخر ليضاعفه بها.
Ibn al-A'rabi said: Al-mughazara is for a man to gift something trivial to another so that he may double it for him.
وقال بعض التابعين: الجانب المستغزر يثاب من هبته؛ المستغزر: الذي يطلب أكثر مما يعطي، وهي المغازرة؛ ومعنى الحديث أن الغريب الذي لا قرابة بينه وبينك إذا أهدى لك شيئا يطلب أكثر منه فإنه يثاب من هديته أي أعطه في مقابلة هديته.
And some of the Successors said: The one who seeks more than they give is rewarded for their gift; al-mustaghzir: one who seeks more than they give, and it is al-mughazara; and the meaning of the Hadith is that a stranger with whom you have no kinship, if he gifts you something seeking more in return, then he is rewarded for his gift, meaning give him in return for his gift.
