So he said to Sa'd's wife: 'Release me, and by God upon me, I will return until I place my leg in the fetter'; so she released him.
فركب فرسا لسعد يقال لها البلقاء، فجعل لا يحمل على ناحية من نواحي العدو إلا هزمهم
He rode Sa'd's horse called Al-Balqā', and he would charge at any side of the enemy and defeat them.
ثم رجع حتى وضع رجله في القيد ووفى لها بذمته
Then he returned until he placed his leg in the fetter and fulfilled his promise to her.
وفرس ضبر، مثال طمر، فعل منه، أي وثاب، وكذلك الرجل
And a ḍabr horse, like ṭamr, is derived from it, meaning leaping, and so is a man.
