المصدر أصل الكلمة التي تصدر عنها صوادر الأفعال
The source is the origin of the word from which the emanations of verbs originate.
تفسيره أن المصادر كانت أول الكلام
Its explanation is that the verbal nouns were the beginning of speech.
كقولك الذهاب والسمع والحفظ
Like your saying: going, hearing, and preserving.
وإنما صدرت الأفعال عنها
And the verbs only originated from them.
فيقال: ذهب ذهابا وسمع سمعا وسماعا وحفظ حفظا
So it is said: he went a going, and he heard a hearing, and he preserved a preservation.
اعلم أن المصدر المنصوب بالفعل الذي اشتق منه مفعول وهو توكيد للفعل
Know that the verbal noun placed after the verb from which it is derived is an object, and it is an emphasis for the verb.
وذلك نحو قمت قياما وضربته ضربا إنما كررته
And that is like: I stood a standing, and I struck him a striking; you only repeated it.
وفي قمت دليل لتوكيد خبرك على أحد وجهين
And in 'I stood' is evidence for confirming your report in one of two ways.
أحدهما أنك خفت أن يكون من تخاطبه لم يفهم عنك أول كلامك
One is that you feared that the one you are addressing did not understand you at the beginning of your speech.
غير أنه علم أنك قلت فعلت فعلا
Except that he knew that you said 'I did an action'.
فقلت فعلت فعلا لتردد اللفظ الذي بدأت به مكررا عليه ليكون أثبت عنده من سماعه مرة واحدة
So you said 'I did an action' to repeat the word with which you began to him, so that it would be more firmly established in his mind than hearing it once.
والوجه الآخر أن تكون أردت أن تؤكد خبرك عند من تخاطبه بأنك لم تقل قمت وأنت تريد غير ذلك
And the other way is that you intended to confirm your report to the one you are addressing, that you did not say 'I stood' while intending something else.
فرددته لتوكيد أنك قلته على حقيقته
So you repeated it to confirm that you said it in its true meaning.
قال: فإذا وصفته بصفة لو عرفته دنا من المفعول به لأن فعلته نوعا من أنواع مختلفة خصصته بالتعريف
He said: And if you describe it with a description, if you knew it, it would approach the direct object because you did it in a way from different types, and you specified it with definition.
كقولك قلت قولا حسنا وقمت القيام الذي وعدتك
Like your saying: I said a good saying, and I stood the standing that I promised you.
وصادر: موضع
And Sadir: a place.
وكذلك برقة صادر
And likewise Barqa Sadir.
وصادرة: اسم سدرة معروفة
And Sadirah: the name of a known Sidrah tree.
ومصدر: من أسماء جمادى الأولى
And Masdar: one of the names of Jumada al-Ula.
أراها عادية
I consider it ancient.
