And it was said: it is that the twister begins from the outside and returns it to his belly, and he has twisted it.
أَمَرَهُ يُسْرًا، فَإِنْ أَعْيَا الْيُسْرُ وَالْتَاثَ إِلَّا مَرَّةَ الشَّزْرِ
He ordered him with ease, but if ease became difficult and tangled, except for the difficult twist.
شَزَرَ أَمْرَهُ أَيْ فَتَلَهُ فَتْلًا شَدِيدًا
He twisted his affair, meaning he twisted it with a strong twist.
يُسْرًا أَيْ فَتَلَهُ عَلَى الْجِهَةِ الْيَسْرَاءِ
With ease, meaning he twisted it to the left side.
فَإِنْ أَعْيَا الْيُسْرُ وَالْتَاثَ أَيْ أَبْطَأَ
But if ease became difficult and tangled, meaning it became slow.
أَمَرَهُ شَزْرًا أَيْ عَلَى الْعَسْرَاءِ
He ordered him with difficulty, meaning in hardship.
بِالْفَتْلِ شَزْرًا غَلَبْتَ يَسَارًا

وَاسْتَشْزَرَ الْحَبْلُ وَاسْتَشْزَرَهُ فَاتِلُهُ

وَنَطْحَنُ بِالرَّحَى بَتَا وَشَزْرًا

وَالشَّزْرُ: الشِّدَّةُ وَالصَّعُوبَةُ فِي الْأَمْرِ
And askance: is severity and difficulty in the affair.
وَتَشَزَّرَ الرَّجُلُ: تَهَيَّأَ لِلْقِتَالِ
And the man prepared himself: he readied himself for combat.
وَتَشَزَّرَ: غَضِبَ
And he became angry: he became enraged.
بَلَغَنِي عَنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ذَرْءٌ مِنْ خَبَرٍ تَشَزَّرَ لِي فِيهِ بِشَتْمٍ وَإِبْعَادٍ فَسِرْتُ إِلَيْهِ جَوَادًا
I heard from the Commander of the Faithful a report that he became angry with me in it with insults and rejection, so I rode to him swiftly.
مَا زَالَ فِي الْحَوْلَاءِ شَزْرًا رَائِغًا
He has been in the womb, looking askance, watching.
شَزْرًا آخِذًا فِي غَيْرِ الطَّرِيقِ
Askance, taking a path that is not the right way.
وَقِيلَ: هُوَ النَّظَرُ بِمُؤَخِّرِ الْعَيْنِ
And it was said: it is looking with the corner of the eye.
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ
And it has preceded.
فَسَّرَهُ فَقَالَ: شَزْرًا آخِذًا فِي غَيْرِ الطَّرِيقِ
He explained it, saying: askance, taking a path that is not the right way.
وَشَيْزَرٌ: بَلَدٌ
And Shayzar: is a town.
وَأَرْضٌ
And a land.
