وقيل: هو خرز يفصل به النظم، وقيل: هو اللؤلؤ الصغير، واحدته شذرة

And it was said: it is beads used to separate the stringing, and it was said: it is small pearls, the singular of which is shadhrah.

يا قوم رأيت منكره، شذرة واد، ورأيت الزهره

O people, I saw its abomination, a valley of shadhar, and I saw the blooming.

كأن شذرا تتابع في النظام له زليل

As if scattered pearls followed each other in a string, with a gentle flow.

وشذر النظم: فصله.

And shadhara the stringing: to separate it.

والتَّشَذُّر: النشاط والسرعة في الأمر.

And at-tashadhdhur: liveliness and speed in the matter.

وتشذرت الناقة إذا رأت رعيا يسرها فحركت برأسها مرحا وفرحا.

And the she-camel tashadhdharat when it saw pasture that pleased it, so it moved its head with playfulness and joy.

والتَّشَذُّر: التهدد؛ ومنه قول سليمان بن صرد: بلغني عن أمير المؤمنين ذرء من قول تشذر لي فيه بشتم وإيعاد فسرت إليه جوادا أي مسرعا

And at-tashadhdhur: threatening; and from it is the saying of Sulayman ibn Sard: It reached me from the Commander of the Faithful a word that tashadhdharat to me with insult and threat, so I set out to him on a swift horse, meaning quickly.

وقال بعضهم تشزر، بالزاي، كأنه من النظر الشزر، وهو نظر المغضب

And some said tashazzara, with a zay, as if from a sidelong glance, which is the glance of one who is angry.

وفي حديث حنين: أرى كتيبة حرشف كأنهم قد تشذروا أي تهيأوا لها وتأهبوا.

And in the hadith of Hunayn: I see a dense battalion as if they had tashadhdharu, meaning they prepared and made ready for it.

ويقال للقوم في الحرب إذا تطاولوا: تشذروا.

And it is said to people in war when they stand tall: they tashadhdharu.

وتشذر فرسه أي ركبه من ورائه.

And he tashadhdhar his horse, meaning he rode it from behind.

وتشذرت الناقة: جمعت قطريها وشالت بذنبها.

And the she-camel tashadhdharat: she gathered her flanks and lifted her tail.

وتشذر السوط: مال وتحرك؛ قال: وكان ابن أجمال، إذا ما تشذرت صدور السياط، شرعهن المخوف

And the whip tashadhdharat: it swayed and moved; he said: And the son of camels, when the tops of the whips tashadhdharat, he made them fear their course.

وتشذر القوم: تفرقوا.

And the people tashadhdharu: they scattered.

وذهبوا في كل وجه شذر مذر وبذر أي ذهبوا في كل وجه، ولا يقال ذلك في الإقبال؛ وذهبت غنمك شذر مذر وشذر مذر: كذلك.

And they went in every direction shadhar madhar and badhar, meaning they went in every direction, and this is not said when approaching; and your sheep went shadhar madhar and shadhar madhar: likewise.

أن عمر، رضي الله عنه، شرد الشرك شذر مذر أي فرقه وبدده في كل وجه، ويروى بكسر الشين والميم وفتحهما.

That Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, dispersed disbelief shadhar madhar, meaning he scattered and broke it in every direction, and it is narrated with a kasra on the shin and mim and their فتح.

والتَّشَذُّر بالثوب وبالذنب: هو الاستثفار به.

And at-tashadhdhur with the garment and with the tail: it is tucking it in.

والشَّوْذَر: الإتب، وهو برد يشق ثم تلقيه المرأة في عنقها من غير كمين ولا جيب؛ قال: منضرج عن جانبيه الشوذر

And ash-shawdhar: the izar, which is a cloth that is split and then the woman places it on her neck without sleeves or a collar; he said: Its sides are adorned with ash-shawdhar.

وقيل: هو الإزار، وقيل: هو الملحفة، فارسي معرب، أصله شاذر وقيل: جاذر.

And it was said: it is the izar, and it was said: it is the mulhafah, a Persian loanword, its origin is shadhar, and it was said: jadhar.

وقال الفراء: الشَّوْذَر هو الذي تلبسه المرأة تحت ثوبها، وقال الليث: الشَّوْذَر ثوب تجتابه المرأة والجارية إلى طرف عضدها، والله أعلم.

And Al-Farra' said: Ash-shawdhar is what the woman wears under her garment, and Al-Layth said: Ash-shawdhar is a garment that a woman and a girl wear up to the edge of her arm, and Allah knows best.
