وخر القوم: جاؤوا من بلد إلى آخر، وهم الخرار والخرارة
And the people came: they came from one country to another, and they are al-kharrar and al-kharrarah.
وخروا أيضا: مروا، وهم الخرارة لذلك
And they also passed: they passed, and they are al-kharrarah for that.
وخر الناس من البادية في الجدب: أتوا
And people came from the desert in drought: they arrived.

And the building collapsed: it fell.
وخر يخر خرا: هوى من علو إلى أسفل
And he fell, he falls, with a fall: he descended from a height to below.
غيره: خر يخر ويخر، بالكسر والضم، إذا سقط من علو

إلا خرت خطاياه ؛ أي سقطت وذهبت
Except that his sins fell; meaning they fell and disappeared.
قال الحرث بن عبد الله: خررت من يديك أي سقطت من أجل مكروه يصيب يديك من قطع أو وجع
Al-Harith ibn Abdullah said: I fell from your hands, meaning I succumbed due to something unpleasant that befell your hands, such as amputation or pain.
وقيل: هو كناية عن الخجل؛ يقال: خررت عن يدي أي خجلت، وسياق الحديث يدل عليه
And it was said: it is a metaphor for shame; it is said: I felt shy from you, meaning I was ashamed, and the context of the hadith indicates this.
وقيل: معناه سقطت إلى الأرض من سبب يديك أي من جنايتهما، كما يقال لمن وقع في مكروه: إنما أصابه ذلك من يده أي من أمر عمله، وحيث كان العمل باليد أضيف إليها
And it was said: its meaning is that I fell to the ground because of your hands, meaning due to their actions, just as it is said to one who falls into misfortune: that befell him from his hand, meaning from the matter of his deed, and since the action was by the hand, it was attributed to it.
وخر لوجهه يخر خرا وخرورا: وقع كذلك
And he fell on his face, he falls, with a fall and khurūr: he fell in that manner.
ويخرون للأذقان يبكون
And they fall on their faces, weeping.
وخر لله ساجدا يخر خرورا أي سقط
And he fell prostrate to God, he falls with khurūr, meaning he fell.
ورفع أبويه على العرش وخروا له سجدا ؛ قيل: خروا لله سجدا، وقيل: إنهم إنما خروا ليوسف لقوله في أول السورة: إني رأيت أحد عشر كوكبا والشمس والقمر رأيتهم لي ساجدين
And he raised his parents to the throne, and they fell down prostrate to him; it was said: they fell prostrate to God, and it was said that they fell prostrate to Joseph because of his saying at the beginning of the surah: 'Indeed, I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me.'
والذين إذا ذكروا بآيات ربهم لم يخروا عليها صما وعميانا ؛ تأويله: إذا تليت عليهم خروا سجدا وبكيا سامعين مبصرين لما أمروا به ونهوا عنه
And those who, when reminded of the signs of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind; its interpretation is: when the signs of their Lord were recited to them, they fell down prostrate and weeping, hearing and seeing what they were commanded and forbidden.
وخر أيضا: مات، وذلك لأن الرجل إذا مات خر
And he also died: he perished, because when a man dies, he falls.
وبايعت رسول الله، صلى الله عليه وسلم، أن لا أخر إلا قائما ؛ معناه أن لا أموت لأنه إذا مات فقد خر وسقط، وقوله إلا قائما أي ثابتا على الإسلام
And I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, that I would not die except standing; its meaning is that I would not die, because if he dies, he has fallen and collapsed, and his saying 'except standing' means firm in Islam.
فقال: إني لا أقع في شيء من تجارتي وأموري إلا قمت بها منتصبا لها
So he said: I do not engage in any of my trade or affairs except that I undertake them standing upright for them.
فقال النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم، لست تغبن في دين الله ولا في شيء من قبلنا ولا بيع ؛ قال: وقول النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم، أما من قبلنا فلست تخر إلا قائما أي لسنا ندعوك ولا نبايعك إلا قائما أي على الحق؛ ومعنى الحديث: لا أموت إلا متمسكا بالإسلام
So the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: You are not defrauded in the religion of God, nor in anything from us, nor in trade; he said: And the Prophet's saying, peace be upon him, 'As for from us, you do not fall except standing' means we do not call you or pledge allegiance to you except standing, meaning on the truth; and the meaning of the hadith is: I will not die except holding fast to Islam.
وقيل: معناه لا أقع في شيء من تجارتي وأموري إلا قمت منتصبا له
And it was said: its meaning is that I do not engage in any of my trade or affairs except that I undertake them standing upright for them.
وقيل: معناه لا أغبن ولا أغبن
And it was said: its meaning is that I am not defrauded and I do not defraud.
وخر الميت يخر خريرا، فهو خار
And the dead person made a sound as he died, he makes a sound, so he is kharr.
وخروا له سجدا ؛ قال ثعلب: قال الأخفش: خر صار في حال سجوده؛ قال: ونحن نقول، يعني الكوفيين، بضربين بمعنى سجد وبمعنى مر من القوم الخرارة الذين هم المارة
And they fell down prostrate to him; Tha'lab said: Al-Akhfash said: kharra means he became in the state of prostration; he said: And we say, meaning the Kufis, with two meanings: prostration and passing by, from the people of al-kharrarah who are the passers-by.
فلما خر تبينت الجن ؛ ويجوز أن تكون خر هنا بمعنى وقع، ويجوز أن تكون بمعنى مات
And when he fell, the jinn became clear; and it is permissible for kharra here to mean fell, and it is permissible for it to mean died.
وخر إذا أجري
And he flowed if he was made to flow.
ورجل خار: عاثر بعد استقامة؛ وفي التهذيب: وهو الذي عسا بعد استقامة
And a man kharr: one who stumbles after being upright; and in al-Tahdhib: he is one who becomes unsteady after being upright.
والخرير: المكان المطمئن بين الربوتين ينقاد، والجمع أخرة
And al-khareer: the low-lying place between two elevated areas, through which water flows, and its plural is akhirah.
فأما العامة فتقول أحزة، بالحاء المهملة والزاي، وهو مذكور في موضعه، وإنما هو بالخاء
But the common people say ahzah, with ha and za, and it is mentioned in its place, but it is with kha.

والخر أيضا: حبة مدورة صفيراء فيها عليقمة يسيرة؛ قال أبو حنيفة: هي فارسية
And al-khirr also: a round, yellowish seed with a slight bitterness; Abu Hanifa said: it is Persian.
وتخرخر بطنه إذا اضطرب مع العظم، وقيل: هو اضطرابه من الهزال؛ وأنشد قول الجعدي: فأصبح صفرا بطنه قد تخرخرا
And his stomach rumbled or churned if it was agitated with the bone, and it was said: it is its agitation from emaciation; and he recited the saying of al-Ja'di: So his stomach became empty, having churned.
وضرب يده بالسيف فأخرها أي أسقطها؛ عن يعقوب
And he struck his hand with the sword and made it fall, meaning he dropped it; from Ya'qub.
والخر من الرحى: اللهوة، وهو الموضع الذي تلقي فيه الحنطة بيدك كالخري؛ قال الراجز: وخذ بقعسريها، ... وأله في خريها، تطعمك من نفيها
And al-khirr of the millstone: the hopper, which is the place where you pour the grain with your hand like a groove; the rajaz poet said: And take its handle, ... and pour into its groove, it will feed you from its flour.
والنفي، بالفاء: الطحين، وعنى بالقعسري الخشبة التي تدار بها الرحى
And al-nafi, with fa: flour, and he meant by al-qa'sari the wooden handle with which the millstone is turned.
