And al-ḥadr, like al-ṣabab: is that which descends from the earth.
والانحدار: الانهباط، والموضع منحدر
And al-inḥidār: is al-inhubāṭ, and the place is a descent.
وحدرت السفينة: أرسلتها إلى أسفل، ولا يقال أحدرتها
And the ship descended: you sent it downwards, and it is not said you sent it down (aḥdartuhā).
وحدر السفينة في الماء والمتاع يحدرهما حدرا، وكذلك حدر القرآن والقراءة
And he descended the ship in the water and the goods, he descended them ḥadran, and likewise he descended the Quran and the reading.
وحدر في قراءته وفي أذانه حدرا أي أسرع
And he hastened in his recitation and in his call to prayer, ḥadran, meaning he sped up.

وهو من الحدور ضد الصعود، يتعدى ولا يتعدى

A ḥadrāʾ woman and an aḥdar man.
عزفت بأعشاش، وما كدت تعزف، ... وأنكرت من حدراء ما كنت تعرف
You turned away from ʿAshāsh, and you almost turned away, ... And you denied from Ḥadrāʾ what you used to know.
يا حدراها ؛ يريد: هل رأى أحد مثل هذا؟
O ḥadrahā!; he means: Has anyone seen the like of this?
وهي تأنيث الأحدر، وهو الممتلئ الفخذ والعجز الدقيق الأعلى
And it is the feminine of al-aḥdar, which is the one full in the thigh and the upper delicate buttocks.
تحدر أحوى، يركب الدر، مظلم
Approaching, dark, riding the dew, dark.
فلما ارعوت في السير قضين سيرها، ... تحدر أحوى، يركب الدر، مظلم
