والحبوكرى أيضا: معركة الحرب بعد انقضائها.

ويقال: مررت على حبوكرى من الناس أي جماعات من أمم شتى لا نحور فيهم شيء ولا بسر «4». بهم شيء.

And it is said: I passed by a Habukra of people, meaning groups from various nations, among whom there was nothing to confront them, nor anything to conceal them.

Al-Layth said: Habukr is a calamity, and so is al-Habukra.

ويقال: جمل حبوكرى، والألف زائدة، بني الاسم عليها لأنك تقول للأنثى حبوكراة، وكل ألف للتأنيث لا يصح دخول هاء التأنيث عليها، وليست أيضا للإلحاق لأنه ليس له مثال من الأصول فيلحق به.

And it is said: a Habukra camel, and the alif is extra; the noun is built upon it because you say for the feminine Habukraah, and every alif for feminine indication does not allow the entry of the ta' marbuta, nor is it for assimilation because it has no precedent from the roots to which it can be assimilated.

It is said, 'They became bewildered in the land' if they were lost.

وتحبر الرجل في طريقه: مثله، إذا تحير.

And the man became bewildered on his way: meaning the same, if he was lost.

إذا جمعته ورددت أطراف ما انتشر منه وكذلك كبكبته.

If you collected it and brought back the ends of what had spread out from it, and likewise you piled it up.

وقال أبو عمرو: ما فيه حبربر ولا حبنبر وهو أن يخبرك بشيء فتقول: ما فيه حبنبر، والله أعلم.

And Abu Amr said: There is no Habrabar nor Habnabar in it, which is when someone tells you something and you say: 'There is no Habnabar in it,' and God knows best.
