And in a less common narration, between ʿAyr and Uhud, and Uhud is in Medina. He said: So Thawr would be a mistake from the narrator, even if it is the most famous and most frequent in narration,
وقيل: إن عيرا جبل بمكة ويكون المراد أنه حرم من المدينة قدر ما بين عير وثور من مكة أو حرم المدينة تحريما مثل تحريم ما بين عير وثور بمكة على حذف المضاف ووصف المصدر المحذوف.
And it was said: ʿAyr is a mountain in Mecca, and what is meant is that the area from Medina was prohibited by the extent of the area between ʿAyr and Thawr from Mecca, or Medina was prohibited with a prohibition like the prohibition of the area between ʿAyr and Thawr in Mecca, with the deletion of the possessive and the description of the deleted masdar.
وقال أبو عبيد: أهل المدينة لا يعرفون بالمدينة جبلا يقال له ثور «2».
And Abu Ubaid said: The people of Medina do not know of a mountain in Medina called Thawr.
وإنما ثور بمكة.
Indeed, Thawr is in Mecca.
وقال غيره: إلى بمعنى مع كأنه جعل المدينة مضافة إلى مكة في التحريم.
And others said: 'ila' means 'with', as if he made Medina associated with Mecca in the prohibition.
