Al-Azhari said: Al-Tihwar is Fay'ul from Al-Wahr, the waw was changed to ta, and its origin is Wihwar, like Al-Tiqwar, whose origin is Wiqwar.

ويقال للرجل إذا كان ذاهبا بنفسه: به تيه تيهور أي تائه.
